Hayden Paddon is New Zealand’s most accomplished rally driver on both the national and international stage. Having won 1 World Rally Championship rally, becoming the first New Zealander to do so, 8 WRC podium placements, and 40 WRC stage victories, it is safe to say Hayden does New Zealand proud on the international stage.

Growing up in Geraldine, Hayden watched his father Chris race in Motorsport rallies before he was old enough to service for him. He then started his own career driving go-karts when he was only 6 years old, his first kart being one his father built for him, powered by a chainsaw engine. His passion for racing only flourished from there, once graduating to a bigger kart he was achieving notable results like South Canterbury Champion and South Island Champion runner up, two years running.

As a child Hayden funded his racing working three jobs, a 5am paper run, the fish n’ chip shop in the evening, and working for his father’s business in the school holidays. Hayden was serious about making rally driving work as a career, at the age of thirteen he went around to every Geraldine business with sponsorship proposals eventually receiving $100 per year from 15 different companies. This passion for Rally Driving has driven Hayden Paddon to become the outstanding driver he has become today.
