Mike bought his first property and under the bank's provision, he could build one house on the section. Never one to dream small or go with the status quo, Mike subdivided and built two homes.
Now Mike Greer Homes have over 500 homes currently under construction throughout New Zealand.
The Mike Greer Group now consists of 16 branches across New Zealand, a national development team, and a national commercial construction team.
Mike Greer Homes is the largest privately owned building company in New Zealand.
Our teams across the country source land opportunities and build residential homes, large-scale government housing developments, retirement villages, and commercial buildings.
We are not like other group home builders in New Zealand that run a franchise-based model. At Mike Greer Homes, we run the JV (Joint Venture) branch model, where Mike Greer Homes owns 51% of each regional branch and 100% of the two largest branches in Christchurch and Auckland.
This structure allows the head office to have oversight of all designs, specifications, costs, and quality of build. This ensures that every build meets the Mike Greer Homes standards for performance.
Mike himself works in the business and is driving the team to always improve on our development delivery.
Mike Greer Homes works closely with the New Zealand government and their housing agencies as an advisor for delivery and building methodology to help solve the housing shortage in New Zealand.
